Kendrapara: Youth Commonwealth Weightlifting gold medalist Achyutananda`s younger sister died of suspected brain malaria, family sources said today.

Sandhyarani (13), an weightlifting aspirant, died in her native village Manipura on Saturday. Achyutananda (17) annexed gold medal in 62 KG category in Cape Town last week and now on return journey.

He was not yet informed about the death of Sandhyarani whom he had promised to take to trainers after his return, the gold medalist`s father said.
