Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are visiting households and seeking documents such as voter ID cards, Aadhaar cards, or school certificates as part of the verification process. Voters are advised to check whether their names appear in the 2002 electoral roll.

To verify, citizens can visit voters.eci.gov.in and click on “Search Your Name”. After selecting the state, district, assembly constituency, and polling station number, they must enter their name along with family details as recorded in 2002. Alternatively, they can use the “Search in Last SIR” option to access the 2002 list directly and check entries.

If the name is found, voters should note down the serial number and related details and inform the Booth Level Officer.

If the name does not appear in the previous SIR list, voters must submit any one of 11 accepted documents, including educational certificates, birth certificates, residential or caste certificates, forest rights certificates, or any government-issued ID card.

So far, around 80 percent of voter mapping has been completed in Odisha. Authorities have requested remaining voters to verify their details and cooperate in the ongoing process. For further information, citizens can contact the Voter Helpline at 1950.

“Those who come under the ‘A’ category, no documents are required for them. However, those who come under the ‘B’ category have to fill in the names of their parents and grandparents, their booth number, and constituency number, along with any one of their serial numbers,” mapping supervisor, Sibaji Pratap Kumar, said to OTV.
