Singhdeo for Bharat Ratna to Bijubabu

New Delhi: Demand for honouring former Odisha chief minister and legendary leader Biju Patnaik, better known as Bijubabu, with country’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna gained momentum with BJD MP Anang Uday Singhdeo raising the issue in Rajya Sabha today.

During Zero Hour in the Upper House, the MP drew the attention of Union Finance minister Arun Jaitley while narrating the contribution of Bijubabu in freedom struggle of the country.

Singhdeo also remembered Bijubabu’s valiant contribution towards ‘Mukti Yudha’ of Indonesia.

He appealed to the MPs irrespective of their political affiliation to meet prime minister Narendra Modi and demand Bharat Ratna for Bijubabu.
