Bhubaneswar: In an attempt to develop Bhubaneswar as a world class smart city, the state government is planning to tie up with Singapore-based agencies for technical support and provide training to the officials involved in the smart city project, Housing and Urban development minister Puspendra Singhdeo has said.

After a meeting with Singapore Consul General Ajit Singh here on Wednesday, the minister said, “A consultation programme with a technical team from Singapore will be organised, which will be attended by the officials of the state government.”

“There will be discussions on capacity building, research and knowledge platform during the consultation programme,” the minister added.

Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Consul General Ajit Singh said, “In the end, Singapore has got the experience and expertise in terms of modern cities and sustainable cities. We will be very happy to share our experience and expertise in those areas.”
