In a major crackdown following the Police SI recruitment scam, the Odisha Government on Wednesday officially blacklisted Silicon Tech, one of the firms whose name surfaced during the investigation.
The State IT Department cancelled all existing contracts and agreements with the company, citing serious irregularities and direct involvement in the alleged manipulation of recruitment processes.
According to official sources, the action was taken after multiple layers of investigation revealed that Silicon Tech had a role in the controversial scam, which earlier led to the arrest of its owner, Suresh Nayak.
The police had found evidence indicating that Nayak maintained close links with Shankar Prusty, chief of Panchsoft, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the entire conspiracy.

Both Panchsoft and Silicon Tech had come under scrutiny after discrepancies were detected in the software handling and management of the SI recruitment examinations. As investigations deepened, officials reportedly uncovered coordinated efforts to tamper with data, manipulate exam results, and influence the recruitment process in exchange for financial benefits.
Officials also confirmed that further inquiry is underway, and strong action will be taken against any organisation or individual found complicit.
The SI scam has triggered widespread criticism from netizens and political parties, who have demanded transparency, accountability, and a complete overhaul of technical support systems used in government recruitment exams.
