(image) Bhubaneswar: The showers on Tuesday washed away the soaring heat that prevailed in the State.

An unexpected shower was witnessed in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and several other districts, which brought relief to the sizzling State and brought down the temperature considerably.

According to the met department, the rain was caused due to a cyclonic circulation, stretching from north Bengal to Jharkhand. The sky is likely to remain cloudy throughout the day.

Several places in the State including Keonjhar, Bhawanipatna, Sambalpur received light showers.
