Shoe Howler Hits Odisha Minister At R-Day Celebrations

Keonjhar: There is a well known saying which says, "Shoes are like friends, they can support you or take you down."

True to the saying, the shoes have pulled Odisha Transport Minister Padmanabh Behera down, when the spectacle of a man seen carrying his shoes witnessed in full public view during the Republic Day celebrations in Keonjhar on Sunday.

Though the identity of the person has not been ascertained, the video of the man seen holding shoes of the minister, who hoisted the Tricolour at the district level celebrations in the district, has gone viral.

According to reports, Minister Padmanabh Behera had taken out his shoes while unfurling the national flag. Later, the person was seen handing over the pair of shoes to the minister after the flag hoisting.

However, the minister has refuted the allegations that somebody was carrying his shoes. Rather, Behera clarified, “As a mark of respect, I had taken out my shoes while hoisting the tricolour. Nobody was carrying my shoes.”
