Cuttack: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by four youths in Cuttack. According to reports, the survivor from Angul had come to Cuttack with some relatives to take part in a rally on Saturday. However, she was subjected to sexual assault by four youths after she was confined in a house at Mangalabag area, informed sources.

The matter came to light after the survivor somehow managed to escape from the clutches of her tormentors today. Later, an auto rickshaw driver rescued the girl and dropped her near the Cuttack Railway Station.
Subsequently, the officials of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) took the girl and lodged a police complaint with Cuttack Government Railway Police (GRP) in connection with the incident.

“According to the girl, she was gang raped by some youths at a place near Mangalabag. We subsequently informed the CWC and sent the survivor to the hospital for treatment,” said GRP IIC, Umakant Mishra.

As the girl alleged that she was subjected to sexual assault, appropriate legal action will be taken after her treatment and receiving the medical report, he stated.

“The girl had come to Cuttack and later she was gang raped by four youths. At present, the girl has been admitted to hospital. We will keep the girl at a child care institution and locate her family,” said Amiya Bhusan Biswal, CWC member.
