Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today arrested the man, who was caught on CCTV molesting a minor girl on road in Laxmisagar area of Bhubaneswar last week.
Earlier today, he was reportedly detained by the Commissionerate Police, that swung into action after being left red faced following delay in the probe. A complaint was filed by the victim’s family in connection with the incident on August 21. The incident was first reported by OTV following which it had sparked outrage.
As per reports, police will reveal the name of the accused only after the Test Identification Parade (TIP), a process by which the identity of persons concerned with the offence under investigation or trial is ascertained.
Suspect in the Laxmi Sagar Molestation Case has been arrested. His details cannot be disclosed at this stage as it will hamper investigation of the case. Speculations are best avoided. Further information will be provided in due course. @odisha_police @dcpbbsr

It was alleged that as the accused was having political links, no promptness was initially shown by the police officials investigating the crime.
As per reports, the accused molested the girl who was on her way to attend tuition on a bicycle on August 21. The accused riding a two-wheeler intercepted the girl and attempted to molest her at an isolated area under Laxmisagar Police limits. However, he fled the spot after the girl raised an alarm.
