Bhubaneswar: K. Surendra, the Odisha head of a private bank IndusInd Bank, was today suspended by the bank higher-ups following sexual harassment allegations made by his female colleagues. The bank’s Human Resources official Satyapriya Gorai informed mediapersons about the suspension decision.

The complainant, a woman staff of the bank, had levelled allegations of sexual harassment against the State Head-cum-Regional Manager (RM) of the bank in the last week of March and lodged a formal complaint in this connection at Saheed Nagar police station. The bank authorities decided to suspend Surendra today.

In the meantime, more women staff of the bank also narrated before the media their similar brush Surendra in the past.

Yesterday, the Commissionerate Police issued a notice to Surendra in connection with the allegations and asked him to depose in a local police station within 14 days to record his statement.
