Seven minor girls engaged as labourers rescued in Koraput
Koraput: Seven minor girls engaged as labourers in cashew mills in Borigumma of Koraput district were rescued after joint raids by Labour department and police today. The raids were ordered by the district collector as a part of a crackdown on child labour.
According to sources, the rescued minors were not able to show any identity proofs during the raid. The Labour department informed the relatives of the minor girls after rescuing them, informed sources.
The Labour department officials said that the next course of action will be taken after speaking to the girls.
