Series bombings jolt Lalbag in Cuttack

Cuttack: Panic gripped residents of Lalbag area in the silver city today after two bike-borne miscreants hurled bombs at a house in Gotia Sahi near Dagarapada Hanuman temple. There is however no report of any injuries or casualty.

Reportedly, the miscreants hurled three bombs one after the other, targeting the house of one Golak Chandra Parida and fled the spot.

Soon after the incident, police rushed to the spot and carried out an investigation. Later, a scientific team and a bomb-diffusing team was called to the crime site after police found an unexploded bomb on the road.

While the actual reason behind the bomb hurling is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the attack could be a fallout of past rivalry.

Parida said, “The accused had enmity with my younger brother. This afternoon, three of them came and hurled three bombs at our house one after another. All of us were present inside the house when this happened. By the time we rushed outside, all three had fled the scene.”

Following a manhunt, Lalbag police managed to nab one of the accused and is interrogating him. Further investigation is underway.
