Senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to visit Odisha in March

Senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are set to visit Odisha in March as part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its organisational base in the state. This was announced by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das on Thursday.

Speaking to the media, Das said that Priyanka Gandhi will visit Odisha on March and address a women’s convention during her tour. The proposed event is aimed at mobilising women workers and supporters while highlighting issues concerning women in the state. As part of its broader organisational outreach programme, the Congress party is planning to hold women’s conventions in 10 districts across Odisha in the coming days.

The OPCC president further informed that preparations are also underway for senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to participate in a separate public meeting in Odisha. Although the dates and venues are yet to be finalised, the visit is expected to play a crucial role in energising party cadres ahead of upcoming political challenges.

Bhakta Charan Das said the Congress party is facing several challenges in 2026 and has already prepared a detailed blueprint for the New Year to address organisational weaknesses. Emphasising unity within the party, he stated that efforts are being made to bring workers together and strengthen the party structure at the grassroots level.

He added that the visits by senior leaders would boost the morale of party workers and help the Congress reconnect with people across the state. The party, he said, is committed to reviving its presence in Odisha through sustained outreach, organisational reforms, and mass contact programmes.
