Schoolboy found hanging in Nayagarh; family alleges murder

Nayagarh: A minor boy was found hanging from a tree near Karadabani UP School in Nayagarh district today morning. Though initial reports claimed it as a suicide, his family members have alleged that he has been murdered.

As per reports, the minor boy studying in Class IX was missing since last seven days and a complaint was also lodged by his family at the local police station in this regard.

This morning, a few locals spotted the boy hanging from the tree and informed the police.

Police rushed to the spot, recovered the body of the minor and sent it for post-mortem. "Based on the missing report lodged by his family members, an investigation was launched. However, the boy was found hanging by a fisherman in the morning who immediately informed us," said Nayagarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).

“Prima facie it is being suspected that it is a hanging case; however, we are investigating whether it is a suicide or a murder,” added the SDPO.
