Malkangiri: In yet another incident of red cruelty, the Maoists shot dead the sarpanch of Kulamanu village near Chitrakonda in Malkangiri district on late Tuesday night.

Around 20 to 25 armed rebels took away sarpanch Madhav Kirasani from his home and shot him after producing in Praja court in a nearby forest, said sources. The red extremists cited that the killing was the decision of praja court.

Police seized the body and started investigation into the matter. They suspected that Maoists might have killed the sarpanch suspecting him to be a police informer.
