Koraput: The residents of several villages adjoining Damanjodi are up in arms against the sarpanch of Mathalput who allegedly attempted to raise the chastity of a minor girl of Sindhipar colony. The villagers have threatened to organise demonstrations unless sarpanch Bijaya Muduli was arrested at the earliest.

Reports said that the girl victim was rescued by some villagers while the sarpanch Bijay Mufuli attempted to rape the innocent girl. The girl even attempted to commit suicide to save her face from humiliation.
