The suspended faculty member has been identified as Dr Saroj Kumar Sahoo. The University stated that the decision was taken based on the ICC’s recommendation, though the notification did not specify the exact grounds for the suspension. Authorities clarified that the ICC’s inquiry process will continue.

Sources said the suspension order was issued by the Registrar on the directions of the Vice-Chancellor, in line with institutional procedures. The University maintained that the action was taken as a precautionary measure while the inquiry is underway.

Restrictions During Suspension Period

As per the notification, Dr Sahoo has been barred from entering the University’s administrative offices and will not be allowed to carry out any teaching or academic responsibilities during the suspension period. He has also been directed to seek prior permission from the competent authority before leaving the headquarters.

Complaint Allegation Not Officially Clarified

According to information available, a complaint was lodged with the ICC alleging misconduct by the MBA department faculty member towards a female student pursuing her PhD under his supervision. However, university authorities did not officially confirm or elaborate on the nature of the allegations cited in the complaint.
