Bhubaneswar: The tentacles of question paper leak case seem to be spreading day by day with allegations involving the son of Higher education minister Badri Narayan Patra.

The Assembly on Tuesday witnessed fireworks after Kantabanjhi Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja alleged that the minister had received bribe from the suspended CHSE deputy secretary of Sambalpur zone for his appointment after being pressurized from his son.

“The minister should come under the purview of Crime Branch in the case,” demanded Saluja.
Reiterating their demand for ouster of the minster, Congress members alleged that the father-son duo has pushed the future of about two lakh examinees into darkness.

The Congress legislators also demanded that the speaker must ask the minister to resign on moral grounds.

On the other hand accepting the Opposition’s demand, Patra announced that if such a situation prevails he will not hesitate to tender resignation. Patra after being accused by the Oppositon Congress had made a similar comment yesterday that he would take "sanyas" from politics if his family was found involved in the episode.

On Monday the Assembly had witnessed pandemonium after ruling BJD members blamed Congress MP Bhakta Charan Das and leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh for recommending certain colleges to be made examination centres.

"Chemistry question paper was leaked from Anchalika Mahalinga Mohavidyalay in Kalahandi district. Bhakta Charan Das in a letter to higher education secretary had requested that Anchalika Mahalinga Mohavidyalay be made an examination centre," BJD deputy chief whip Sanjay Dasburma had claimed.

He also alleged that Congress leader Bhupinder Singh had made a similar recommendation for making a college an examination centre.
