Bhadrak: Home Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh today reiterated that the sacrifice of CRPF jawans, martyred in Pulwama terrorist attack on February 14, will not go in vain.

Addressing BJP's booth level workers at Ranital in Odisha's Bhadrak district, Singh said, "The country stands beside the jawan and security persons. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already given a freehand to jawans and Army to ensure sacrifice of the jawans does not go in vain."

He further said, "During the all-party meeting held on Saturday in Delhi, representatives of all the political parties unanimously condemned the dastardly act of terrorists and Pakistan as well. In last five years, many terrorists were eliminated by the security forces and the Pulwama attack is a result of the helplessness of terrorists."

Two Odia jawans, Manoj Kumar Behera and Prasanna Kumar Sahu, were among the 45 CRPF jawans who were martyred in the attack. "There is no word to describe the valour of the two jawans of Odisha," the Home Minister added.

Before addressing the gathering, the Home Minister observed a minute's silence for the martyred CRPF personnel.

Earlier today, accompanied by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other BJP leaders, Singh visited Eram in the district and offered floral tributes to the martyrs who were gunned down in 1942 by the British police.
