Bhubaneswar: BJD spokesperson Sulochana Das is now in the eye of a storm for her statements during party's IT conclave held in Bhubaneswar yesterday. Opposition parties today criticised Das for her speech in which she exhorted the party activists to chop off the hands whose fingers are raised against us.

“CM Naveen Patnaik has never reacted to criticism and I urge all to maintain such decency. But those who point fingers at us, we should chop those hands off, but with due respect,” Das stated while addressing the gathering at BJD’s IT Cell meeting.

Congress Mahila Congress president, Sumitra Jena said “The way Sulochana Das claimed that the hands will be ‘chopped off with respect’ is not acceptable.” Jena further said that Congress will continue to criticise all wrongdoings of the government.

“There is absolutely no room for such remarks and threats in politics and democracy,” said BJP leader Lekhashree Samantsinghar.

Senior BJD leader and Information and Public Relations Minister, Pratap Jena, on the other hand, stated that he is unaware about party spokesperson Sulochana Das’ statements.
