Rourkela: The police on Friday arrested a ruling BJD councilLor on charge of illegally selling liquor at his eatery in the steel city here.

The raid was conducted at a dhaba, situated on the Gurudwara Road near the railway station. The dhaba was owned by Ashok Mahato, a BJD Councillor.

The police had prior information regarding illegal sale of foreign liquor in the eatery owned by Mahato. He was present during the raid and was arrested immediately, police said.

The police have seized 14 IMFL bottles from the BJD leader's eatery.
