RSP Junior Manager found hanging in his quarters; suicide suspected

Rourkela/Nuapada: Police today recovered the body of a Junior Manager of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) hanging from the ceiling at his official quarters in Sector-2 here.

As per sources, deceased Jay Parabesh, a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan was posted as the Junior Manager in the New Plate Mill at RSP.

Sources said Parabesh had tied the knot one and half years ago and his wife, who was four-months pregnant, went to her in-law’s house at Rajasthan only two days ago.

Getting information, police rushed to the spot along with a scientific team, recovered the body and launched an investigation into the incident.

While the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, police suspect it to be a case of suicide as per preliminary investigation.

Police officials further informed that the body's post-mortem will be conducted only after his family members reach Rourkela.

"We can ascertain the cause of death after getting the post-mortem reports. Further investigation is on," said a police official.

In another incident today, a young couple was found hanging from a tree near Pawartala village under Dharambandha police limits in Nuapada district. The deceased have been identified as Siba Majhi and Ranjita Majhi of Pawartala village.

Recovering the bodies, police have initiated a probe to find out whether it is a case of suicide or murder, sources said.
