Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of Railway Group-D job aspirants were stranded at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station as several trains were cancelled in view of the cyclonic storm 'Titli'.

The Indian Railways had cancelled the Group-D exam which were scheduled to be held today (October 11) and October 12.

The RRB Group D exam was scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Khurda and Berhamapur and was cancelled in view of cyclone Titli.

"We were on the train on our way to Bhubaneswar when we came to know that the exams have been cancelled. Even though we booked the return ticket we couldn't return... One train came but it was so rush that we couldn't even enter into the bogie," said a student.

The circumstances under which the exams have been cancelled are understandable but some arrangements should have been done for the candidates to return home, he lamented.

"We are facing a lot of problems due to the cancellation of the exam. No doubt we will be refunded against the cancellation of our tickets but travelling in night is creating problems for us," said another railway job aspirant stranded at Bhubaneswar Railway Station.

Meanwhile, the revised dates and place will be notified to the candidates on their registered mobile number and email soon, informed Chairman of RRB, Bhubaneswar.
