The aircraft had developed an engine-related problem, forcing an emergency landing in the area. Officials said the analysis of the engine is expected to help determine the exact cause of the incident.

The aircraft had met with the emergency situation on the 10th of this month. Following safety procedures, the engine was cut and removed for inspection. Sources also indicated that mangled parts of the aircraft itself are likely to be transferred to Canada as part of the ongoing investigation.

However, no comments were received from the authorities in this regard.

Worth mentioning, other damaged parts of the ill-fated aircraft were also transported to Bhubaneswar for a detailed technical probe on January 28. The aircraft wreckage brought in two carrier trucks had reached Bhubaneswar airport late at night.

The aircraft, which was bound for Rourkela on the intervening day, had departed at around 10 PM with passengers on board when it had reportedly developed a technical fault, forcing the pilot to make a precautionary landing.

The crash had left a total of at least six people severely injured, including two pilots and four passengers. According to available information, one pilot and two passengers have already recovered and returned home.

Unfortunately, a passenger lost his life due to injuries sustained in the fatal accident.
