Retired doctor’s death: CCTV footage reveals vital details
Bhubaneswar: Police investigation into the mysterious death of the retired doctor Rabindra Nath Rath took a new turn after vital clues came out from the footage of CCTVs installed throughout the roads. The doctor’s body was recovered from railway tracks at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station on Friday night.
As per the CCTV footage, the doctor took an autorickshaw along with two other persons but after getting a phone call, got down on the way and rode pillion with an unknown biker to the railway station. The footage also showed the doctor entering platform no -1 of the station at 9.47 pm and walking up to one end of the platform-1 while speaking on his mobile phone. Later at around 10.05 pm, his body was found on the railway tracks. These clues are being investigated further to get to the root of the case.
Family members of the deceased doctor have demanded an investigation to ascertain the identity of the biker alleging that Rath was murdered in a pre-planned manner. As per information, Rath had spoken to a woman at 9:01 pm and the phone number was saved as ‘Unknown hospital’.
Rath, a paediatrician by profession was found lying on the rail tracks with injury marks after a train left the Platform-1 of the station at around 10.05 pm on the night of August 24. Police investigation into the case is underway.
