Residential school shame: Social outfit calls for 12-hour Kandhamal bandh tomorrow
Phulbani: The Kandhamal Surakshya Abhiyan has called for a 12-hour bandh in the district tomorrow demanding resignation of ministers and other officials in connection with the incident where a class VIII school girl delivered a baby at a residential school. Convener of the social outfit, Pratap Jena informed about the bandh today.
According to sources, the organization has demanded resignation of SC ST minister, Ramesh Majhi and Women and Child Development minister, Prafulla Samal along with compensation for the victim girl. They have also demanded the transfer of the district Collector and dismissal of other concerned officials.
The bandh will be observed in a peaceful manner from 6 AM to 6 PM and the members of the organisation have urged the residents to participate in the bandh, sources added.
“We are demanding compensation for the victim and dismissal of concerned officials. All forms of transportation and roads will be closed as a part of the bandh,” Pratap Jena said.
