Bhubaneswar: The decision of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to reschedule the examination date for the posts of Assistant Section Officers has drawn flak from candidates across the State.

The OPSC had decided to re-schedule the exam to January 20 which was earlier scheduled to be held on December 23. Resentment has grown among the candidates as three exams are scheduled on the same date.

As per reports, due to a large number of applicants, the commission postponed the date to January 20.
The students alleged that they should not be made to suffer as they have applied for the banking and railway posts as well.

“The ASO exam is rescheduled to January 20 but the candidates would not be able to appear in the exam as three other exams are scheduled on the same date. We urge the officials to shift the dates otherwise the applicants will suffer,” said a complainant, Satyabrat Mishra.

According to reports, OPSC had earlier released the notification of ASO Recruitment 2018 on September 20, 2018, on the official website opsc.gov.in. for filling up of 500 vacancies for the post of Assistant Selection Officer (ASO) in Group B of Odisha Secretariat Service under Home Department.
