Balasore: Activists of BJD's Balasore unit organised a party meeting at Bolang under Balipala block of the district today to protest alleged anti-party activities of MP Rabindra Kumar Jena.

As per allegations, the Balasore MP is giving priority to Congress activists over BJD members. Besides, Jena is planning for removal of reliable party leaders from BJD, the resenting activists claimed.

Maheswar Jena, a Samiti Member of Baliapal block said “Several activities including defeating party candidate during panchayat elections and facilitating arrest of Bolang panchayat BJD president, Jagabandhu Mallick are condemnable.”

Toeing on similar lines, Nityananda Jena, another Samiti member of Baliapal block said “We protest the way the MP and president of BJD’s Balasore unit is operating. We also oppose suspension of Maheswar Jena and Satyananda Mohanty. We want that Rabindra Kumar Jena should not get party ticket any further.”

Some activists also demanded Jena’s removal from party.

Ranjita Tunga, sarpanch of the Saudi gram panchayat said “The MP is not listening to us and is paying heed to requests made by persons from opposition camp.”

Refuting the charges, the Balasore MP said “Persons who were suspended from the party organised the meeting. Hence, they don’t have any right to speak on the affairs of the party.”
