Rengali Tehsildar Lands Behind Bars For Molesting Lady Official

Sambalpur: Police on Friday arrested the Tehsildar of Rengali and court-forwarded him for allegedly molesting a woman, who happens to be the Additional Tehsildar of Maneswar tehsil office in the district.

The accused, Prafulla Behera, was arrested based on a complaint filed by the Additional Tehsildar at Dhanupali police station last night.

The woman reportedly hails from Dhanupali area, and stays in a rented accommodation alone. In her complaint, she has alleged that Behera one day barged into her house and molested her.

Acting on this, police registered a case and arrested the accused. He was produced in a court and later sent to jail after the court turned down his bail plea.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, police said.
