Red ultras torch truck, block roads

Padmapur: After Nuapada and Bolangir in western Odisha the Maoists have started spreading their network in Bargarh. The ultras on the fifth day of the celebration of Peoples` Liberation Guerrila Army (PLGA) week today set fire to one lorry and blocked several important roads in the district by felling trees.

The Maoists set fire to the truck carrying sacks at Jharmunda Chhak to spread terror in the localities. The ultras have blocked roads by felling trees. The Padmapur-Nuapada road has been completely cut off from the outside world and vehicular traffic on the important road has come to a grinding halt.

The Maoists have undertaken massive campaign through posters and banners in the district. Through the posters distributed by Bargarh Mahasamudra Divisional Committee and Communist Party of India(Maoist) the red rebels have urged the people especially the down-trodden to join their organisation and the PLGA in large numbers. The Maoists have distributed posters mainly in Purenakharidihi, Modhipalli and Brahmanatal areas. The Maoists, it may be recalled, had killed one forest guard in Buden under Padmapur subdivision.
