Phulbani: The red rebels have been planning to conduct a major strike in the tribal infested Kondhmal district. More bad news still as this time the attck might be more damaging and brutal in nature than the blood-chilling Nayagarh one in February, 2008. Red guerrillas from Chhatisgarh and Jharkhand have been trained specially picked up for the strike.

The startling reveleations habve been made a hardcore cadre,Jagannath Nayak who was apprehended by the Kondhmal police on Wednesday last from village Kurubadi under Bhramarabadi panchayat.

According to a senior police official, the Maoistst have made plans to attack vital installations under Brahmanigaon and daringibadi police stations and the CRPF camp located at Paniganda bordering gajapati and Brahmanigaon. The Central Committee along with the Village Militia Committee has already drawn the blueprint for the attack, the police official added.

Disclosing more details, the official said that four trucks, one jeep and motorcycles used to carry out the lightning strike and the left-wing ultras are literally armed to the teeth for the operation.

After Jagannath`s disclosures, the Kondhmal police has started taking counter measures to foil any attack by the rebels. Combing operations have been intensified in Daringibadi and Btahmanigaon areas.
