Bhubaneswar: The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would meet party leaders and workers at the Congress Bhawan in the state capital during his two day visit to the state. The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would be visiting the state capital not just to inaugurate the National Science Congress and give away the UNESCO Kalinga award, the visit to the Congress Bhawan on December 3 forms an important part of his itinerary.

After former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the present incubment Manmohan Singh would be only the second Prime Minister to visit the Congress Bhawan. He would arrive at the Congress Bhawan at about 11.45 AM on December and would meet party leaders and workers. The state headquarter of the Congress is being readied for the occasion while the men in charge of the Prime Minister`s security already have taken stock of the arrangements.

The Centre has recently sanctioned Rs 921 crore towards flood relief and the dates have been announced for the Panchayat polls. The proposed visit of the PM has created lots of enthusiasm among the state unit leaders. Pradesh Congress Committee chief Niranjan Pattanaik said,"The Prime Minister has given Rs. 921 crore to the state for flood reliefs. His visit is important." Only time can tell to what extent Manmohan Singh`s visit would be helpful to the Congress party.
