After much reluctance, members of Dongria Kondh living in Niyamgiri hills of Rayagada district finally agreed to undergo Covid-19 test
Along with the lockdown, the weekend shutdown will be remain in force in the weekends starting from 6 pm of Fridays to 5 am on Mondays in Odisha.
The Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) expressed open reluctance to the diagnosis at a medical camp which was set up following reports that several members were afflicted with coronavirus. A total of 19 people belonging to the Dongaria Kondh tribe are affected by the disease.
Odisha on Saturday witnessed a concerning figure in the single-day covid cases with 11, 805 more people testing positive for the contagious disease in last 24 hours taking the cumulative virus infection count to 6,00,492.
After witnessing a steady decline in number of daily covid-19 cases, Odisha once again registered an upswing in the infection figures with 10982 people testing positive for the virus in last 24 hours, causing significant worry for the State which is currently under lockdown to check rising cases.
Several places across Odisha especially coastal parts are likely to experience thunderstorm activities including light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty surface winds on Tuesday.
The number of daily Covid -19 positive cases continues to drop for the fourth consecutive day in Odisha. The State reported 9,793 fresh cases with 18 fatalities in last 24 hours.
Odisha continues to witness a dip in number of Covid 19 cases for last three days. The number of daily infections which stood at 10,635 yesterday has come down to 10,031 today. The total caseload has mounted to 54, 4873 following today’s figures.
