Ravenshaw University to introduce special facilities for divyang students
Cuttack: Ravenshaw University will be launching an array of facilities for divyang (physically challenged) students staying in the varsity hostel. The information was shared by Vice Chancellor of Ravenshaw University, Ishan Patra.
Sources further said that the university will set up an independent committee for divyang students.
According to sources, CCTV cameras will be installed in hostels and the specialized hostel for the differently-abled students will have elevators. The hostel’s roof door will remain permanently shut and the students will have to compulsorily sign the register for outdoor visits, sources informed.
On being asked about the plans, Patra said “We want to ensure that there are no problems for the physically and visually challenged students. We are taking steps to make the facilities better for such students.”
Patra said, “The differently-abled students will stay on the ground floor of the hostel.”
