Ravenshaw University students stage demonstration

Cuttack: Undergraduate students of Ravenshaw University staged a demonstration today protesting a notification issued by the varsity on allotment of rooms in East Hostel to Ph.D students.

According to sources, the undergraduate students raised slogans against the varsity authorities and sat on a dharna in front of the hostel. The protesting students alleged that if Ph.D students are allowed to stay in the East Hostel, it will give rise to conflict between undergraduates and the seniors.

Currently only undergraduate students are residing in the East Hostel.

Comments from the varsity authorities on the matter could not be obtained despite several attempts.
