New Delhi: Rath Yatra was celebrated with religious fervor and fanfare at several places across the country besides Odisha.

In the country’s Capital, the car fest was celebrated at Hauz Khas, Tyagrajnagar, Rohini, Faridabad and Gazhiabad. Similarly, in Jhilmil Colony, chariots were pulled by devotees after BJD MP Baijayant Panda performed ‘Chera Panhara’ ritual.

In Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, the festival was celebrated with much excitement and energy. The car fest organized by Odia Welfare Association and Jagannath Sevak Sangh drew huge crowd today.

In Koraput town of Odisha, the ‘Pahandi’ of deities started at 12.45 pm. Deities were brought on to the chariots at 2.30 pm. Chariot pulling began at 4.30 pm after ‘Chera Panhara’ by a tribal leader Dasee Naik.

In Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Rath Yatra witnessed huge participation from devotees.
