Bhubaneswar: Advisor to the Prime Minister in the National Council of Skill Development, S Ramadorai on Monday asked the state government to train youths keeping an eye on employability.

Ramadorai, who met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the day, said the state government should impart training to the youth which could provide instant employment.

Construction, tourism and hospitality, health care, IT and ITES have a big employment potential in the state, he said and stressed vocational courses from school level.

Patnaik told Ramadorai that a total 1,33,800 youths were getting skilled development training in different engineering colleges, schools, industrial training institutes and polytechnics.

This apart, the youths were also getting skill development training through employment mission.

The chief minister told Ramadorai that the state required 12,000 engineers, 36,000 engineering diploma holders and 72,000 ITI trained youths by 2015, the sources added.
