Bhubaneswar: Odisha politics has entered a new combative phase as the Congress has shifted gears to cross swords with the Naveen Patnaik Government. The actual reason which prompted the Congress to launch a pincer attack against the ruling BJD is still wrapped in mystery. The ostensible reason was to nail Naveen Patnaik for his alleged opposition to the coal block auctions. In Delhi, the Congress is fighting a grim survival battle after the CAG report exposed a whopping loss of Rs 1.86 lakh crore to the exchequer. And as a damage-limitation exercise, the Central Congress leadership tried to shift the blame to the state CMs like Naveen Patnaik who wrote letters recommending coal blocks to certain private entities who had signed MoUs to set up steel and power plants within the state.
