Jajpur: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh came down heavily on BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today for not implementing Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Odisha.

Addressing a poll meeting in Bari of Jajpur district today, Rajnath said that while the Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been implemented by other states of the country, people of Odisha are being deprived of the benefits of the National Health Protection Mission.

“The Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been implemented across the country. All those who have the Ayushman Bharat Yojana card are getting health coverage up to Rs 5 lakh. However, the Naveen-led BJD government is not implementing the scheme in Odisha. Likewise, there are several centrally-sponsored schemes which the state government should implement," said the Union Home Minister.

This apart, he further said that despite ruling for the last 20 years, the CM Naveen has failed to ensure development of the state.

Assuring to make Odisha the No.1 state in the country, Singh also appealed people to vote for BJP.

The Union Minister also took a jibe at Congress saying the country will become poverty-free if it becomes Congress-free. He also promised that everyone in the country will have pucca houses and LPG connection by 2020.
