Bhubaneswar: Weathermen have predicted that the quantity of rain in the State is likely to increase within next 48 hours due to a cyclonic storm over northwest Bay of Bengal.

The meteorological department said especially catchment areas of Mahanadi, Brahmani and Bansadhara rivers are going to experience heavy rainfall. The cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal will take the form of a low pressure in next two days.

Source said the State has so far experienced three percent less rainfall than average.
