Rain Fury: Boundary wall of Jajpur sub-jail collapses

Jajpur: It was a close shave for inmates and staff posted at Jajpur sub-jail after a large portion of the boundary wall collapsed following incessant rain late on Friday night.

A major tragedy was averted as all the inmates were sleeping inside the hall when the incident was reported at around 2 AM.

Local residents alleged that the boundary wall of the jail was reconstructed some two years back and the mishap could be the fallout of the substandard work.

However, the jail authorities could not be contacted on such allegations.
