Bhubaneswar: Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s fierce speech in Bhubaneswar yesterday has apparently infused life into the party workers. After party president’s visit, Congress leaders and party workers are leaving no stone unturned to relay the message of their leader to the people of Odisha.

During his visit, Congress president had encouraged his party members by saying that solution to the farm loan and Minimum Support Price issues is in the hands of the party leaders. Elated over his words, party members too have decided to up the ante against BJP and BJD ahead of the general elections.

“Party president Rahul Gandhi urged us to fight over important issues like women safety and farmers' plight. We will definitely follow his instructions,” said Pradesh Congress Committee President, Niranjan Patnaik.

While Odisha Congress has been marred by intra party feuds recently, party workers believe that Rahul Gandhi’s advice will encourage them to fight as one unit.  Congress leader Tara Prasad Bahinipati said “Rahul Gandhi has won the hearts of the people and Congress will come to power for sure in the upcoming elections.”

On the other hand, BJD said that Rahul’s speech won’t have any effect on the results of the upcoming general elections. “Rahul Gandhi’s speech proves that Congress party is frustrated. No Congress leader has ever said things that Rahul said,” BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb said.

Similarly, BJP has also said that Rahul Gandhi’s speech won’t bring any change in the status of Congress party. “Even with a microscope it is difficult to find party workers of Congress in the State. So if someone is saying that Rahul Gandhi’s visit will boost the morale of party workers, it is just to make them comfortable and nothing else,” BJP General Secretary, Prithviraj Harichandan said.
