Bhubaneswar: Putting all speculations to rest on confusion and uncertainty over finalisation of venue for  Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming public meeting on January 25, the Odisha unit of the party today informed that the meeting will be held in Bhubaneswar.

OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik today said that two places including Tamando ground have been identified in this regard.

Gandhi is scheduled to hold a public meeting and will also meet farmers, civil society members, officials of HAL and intellectuals during his stay from 10 am to 5 pm in the State on January 25.

Asked about whether Rahul will interact with party workers ahead of the crucial polls, Patnaik said “It is not sure whether a separate session with party workers can be organised keeping in view the tight schedule, so Rahul Gandhi might address them during the public meeting itself or else we will see it later.”

It may be noted that finalisation of a venue for a rally to welcome the party chief had posed a challenge for Odisha Congress which  had alleged that the ruling-BJD had intentionally kept all the major venues booked in advance till March.
