Bhubaneswar: Higher education minister Badri Narayan Patra on Monday told Assembly that steps will be taken to cancel affiliation and recognition of colleges if any violation regarding question paper safety were found in such colleges.

Replying to a debate in adjournment motion moved by Opposition Congress, Patra said, “We have taken all possible security measures to avoid any further possibility of question paper leak. In case we find any deviation from the attempts made for a full-proof examination, steps will be taken to cancel recognition and affiliation of such colleges.”

Patra stated on the test days question papers will be opened in the presence of officials of respective district administration and Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.

“The college lockers will again be sealed in the present of those officials after the day's exam concludes” added Patra.


The minister also informed the House that all SPs and district collectors have been asked for the deployment of more squads at the respective exam centres to avoid any unprecedented incident.

Meanwhile going on a damage control mode, the state government on Sunday cancelled Mahalinga Anchalik college examination centre in Kalahandi district, which was a source of the leak.

Centre superintendent B K Jena has been remanded in judicial custody in this connection.

Higher education secretary Gagan Dhal said examinees of the college will appear the rest of the Plus II test at Golamunda college, around 10 km away.
