The ritual of the deities should have been observed after the Niladribije ritual. But it couldn’t be held due to a dispute over the day of the ritual between the Dattamohapatra servitors and the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

The decision was taken after the ASI shot a letter to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) requesting permission to conduct a survey of the Ratna Bhandar.
As per the Srimandir Record of Rights, the ritual should be held at least four times a month, but a reported dispute between the SJTA and the Dattamohapatra servitors has resulted in the disruption of the ritual.
At the Niti (ritual) sub-committee meeting held on July 28, it was decided that the decision regarding the ‘Banakalagi’ ritual would be taken at the management committee meeting. Since the meeting has been postponed, it is certain that the impasse will continue, at least for some more days.

Self-styled godman of Gurukrupa Ashram at Lokanath road in Puri had attacked Arjuna Das and Dayanidhi Das on Saturday.
As per initial reports, Das was attacked by the self-styled godman, identified as Bishnu Das. Another baba has also been injured in the attack by Bishnu inside the Ashram. The injured, Dayanidhi is now undergoing treatment at the hospital.
