The much-awaited inventory of the Ratna Bhandar, the sacred treasure chamber of the Puri Srimandir, will be conducted after Panchuka, announced Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Friday.
Addressing reporters, the minister stated that the preparatory process for the inventory is already underway in coordination with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). All necessary formalities and procedural clearances are being completed to ensure a smooth and transparent process.
Harichandan clarified that the inventory exercise will strictly follow the temple’s rituals, traditions, and security protocols. “The government is committed to maintaining complete transparency while safeguarding the sanctity of Lord Jagannath’s treasures,” he said.
The Law Minister further informed that the inventory will be supervised by a high-level committee, ensuring systematic documentation of the temple’s precious jewels and ornaments belonging to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
Officials have been directed to ensure all arrangements, including security, preservation, and record management, are in place before the process begins.
