Puri Badadanda to get power supply by May 12; restoration in Bhubaneswar on schedule

Bhubaneswar: Electricity supply will be restored at Badadanda, the grand road in Puri by May 12 and remaining areas of the district including Konark by May 15, informed Sanjay Singh, secretary of Information and Public Relations department. Moreover, the State government has reiterated that they are on schedule to meet the deadline set for restoration of power supply in Bhubaneswar.

“Electricity supply has been provided to 86,000 consumers in Bhubaneswar. CESU officials have targeted to restore power supply to 80 % consumers by tomorrow (May 10) and 100 % by May 12,” said Singh.

Moreover, with relief and restoration works being undertaken on a war-footing in Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and other affected areas, Odisha government has decided to rope in ITI students to help in the ongoing electricity restoration works in Bhubaneswar and Puri.

Addressing a presser today, Singh informed that it is practically difficult to oversee electricity supply to individual households and the ITI students will act as bridge to resolve the grievances of people.

Earlier, the ITI students had done a commendable job in assisting people after cyclone Phalin.

“We plan to engage nearly 500 ITI students mostly from electrical trade in Bhubaneswar and Puri. The students will assist people in getting power supply” informed Singh.
