Bhubaneswar: The ‘psycho killer’ suspected to be behind the three brutal murders in a gap of 48 hours in Cuttack still remains to be at large spreading terror in the minds of people in the millennium city, especially among the destitute and others sleeping on footpath.

Even though the cops are still clueless about the psycho killer, special teams have been formed to nab the accused while checking has been intensified.

Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty today informed that as a sharp weapon was used to execute three murders and all the victims were sleeping on footpath, we suspect that the criminal could be psychopath.

“As the pattern of murder is same and crime has been executed without any motive, we suspected the involvement of one person. We have formed a special core investigation team and we will nab the culprit soon,” said Mohanty said.

The top cop further rubbished certain reports in media that the killer has headed to Bhubaneswar. “There is no reason to panic as all such are rumours,” he added.

Senior police officials informed that already special efforts have been taken to intensify patrolling in Cuttack. Not only Cuttack, similar drives have also been undertaken in Bhubaneswar while the entire operation is being monitored by the Police Commissioner.

Apart from Commissionerate Police, Government Railway Police (GRP) has also undertaken special measures for the protection of homeless under its jurisdiction.
