Cuttack: Even though the cops are still clueless about the 'Psycho Killer', Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammad Moquim and Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Souvic Biswal were spotted doing night patrolling their respective constituencies in the wee hours on Sunday.

The MLAs, BJD's Souvic Biswal and Congress' Mohammad Moquim joined the night patrolling and raised awareness among the homeless and others sleeping on footpath in various parts of the Cuttack.

"The rest room at Badambadi bus terminal is locked while the night shelter is yet to be made functional even though the renovation works have been completed. As a result, passengers and other homeless are forced to take shelter on footpaths," said Moquim.

As some miscreants have forcefully captured the night shelters and collecting money,  a delegation of Congress will meet the DGP for appropriate action against the accused. The patrolling should be started in the evening and the CCTVs should be installed at various parts of the city," Moquim added.

Choudwar-Cuttack MLA,  Souvic Biswal said, "The person who is behind the brutal murder of three persons seems to be abnormal. The police department is on high alert and efforts are being taken to nab the accused. We will shift the homeless and those who are sleeping on footpath to shelter homes."

On the other hand, Cuttack DCP Ahikleswar Singh informed that special teams have been formed and patrolling intensified in the city.

"We have got some leads in the case. The third victim, whose body was recovered near Cardiology department of SCB Hospital, was actually attacked near OMP Chhak. But the victim had requested a biker to drop him at the hospital. Investigation is underway and will and the accused soon," said Singh.

On July 24, a daily wage labourer was found dead under OMP bridge with injury marks on his neck and head. In another incident, an elderly rag picker was found in critical condition near the Cardiology department of SCB Hospital. The man, however, later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

Similarly, a man was brutally murdered near Taladanda canal on July 23.
