According to sources, irregularities in the provision of mid-day meals (MDMs) and other administrative issues were cited as reasons for transferring the headmaster elsewhere.

Parents and students demanded that the authorities reconsider the decision, stating that the headmaster had earned the respect and trust of the local community.

Demonstrators gathered in front of the school, holding placards and raising slogans to voice their concerns.

The administration has not yet issued an official statement regarding the protest or any decision to review the transfer.

“What did Tuku Sir (the headmaster) do? If the teachers are to be relocated, then all of them will be transferred. Or else, none of the teachers will be moved,” a student’s mother, Padmabati Baral, said.

“We want the school to run peacefully and all teachers to remain here,” Padmabati added.

“They (the Department higher-ups) do not know what Surya Sir (the headmaster) does and whatnot. Rather, they are framing false allegations against him and doing politics. We want the return of Surya Sir to our school,” a student, Tapas Behera, expressed.

Worth mentioning, earlier in another incident, hundreds of students and parents had locked the Kukudanga Government High School main gate in Salepur block of Cuttack district on July 29 this year, protesting the transfer of two teachers.
